Smolders leaves his mark once again at the LVHSGA

Tomorrow is set to be a key day, with the Grand Prix Giorgio Armani, presented by Longines

As in 2025, the winner of the 2026 CSI5*’s ‘Small Grand Prix’ presented by Premio AB YACHT was the Dutch champion, Harrie Smolders, who is one of the most respected riders in Versilia.
Smolders lived up to his reputation, taking victory aboard the grey Devino vd Weretherbach Z with three clear rounds and a jump-off time of 30.46 seconds.

At the end of the first two rounds, four pairs advanced to the final round. Alongside Smolders, the outsider Brazilian rider Joao Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes de Lima had no faults aboard Obama de la Liniere (0/0–0; 31.77). Kim Emmen from the Netherlands was also clear with Hellix du Seigneur (0/0–0; 33.23).
Italian rider Roberto Previtali, who will be competing with Quirinus 27 in tomorrow’s Grand Prix Giorgio Armani presented by Longines, did not participate in the jump-off.

Smolders was also one of the standout performers in the CSI2* Grand Prix. Riding For Chacco TN, the Dutchman finished second in the Grand Prix presented by KASK (0/0; 32.55), right behind Saudi Arabian Abdulrahman Alrajhi, first aboard Lorenzo ES (0/0; 31.78).
